After seeing the film ‘Dunkirk’ I was so moved that I felt I just had to make a piece about the brave ordinary men that came in their boats to save the British army. An incredible feat.
I’ve always had an interest in history and family history. Although none of my family took part in Dunkirk, I always find it emotional when thinking about these young men facing terrible situations and relating them to my family.
From creating this piece I really want to explore doing more historical illustration and learn more about our history.
